June is Pride month. 51 years ago, in response to unjust police raid, the gay community retaliated in what is now know as the historic Stonewall riots. This act of defiance marks an important milestone that sparked the struggle of LGBTQ community for equal rights. The month of June was chosen for LGBTQ Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots.
This year another huge step for LGBTQ rights was achieved with the supreme court ruling that applied Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to make it illegal for employers to discriminate because of a person's sex, sexual orientation and transgender status.
As a country we still have a long way to go to achieve equality for all. Law Office of John Rottier stands in solidarity with our LGBTQ community and is committed to serve all people in need, regardless of their ethnicity, nationality, gender, race, religion, age or sexual orientation. We are an inclusive group and welcome everyone.
Happy Pride !!
