COVID-19 vaccinations now required for immigrants
The Center for Disease Control (CD) has updated its guidance for civil surgeons now stating that COVID-19 vaccine is required for individuals applying for adjustment of status for U.S. permanent residence, who receive their medical exams on or after October 1, 2021.
The COVID-19 vaccination now also meets the vaccination criteria for applicants for refugee or immigrant status who are outside of the USA.
Applicants who are too young to receive the vaccine, have a medical contraindication to the vaccine, or who do not have access to one of the approved COVID-19 vaccines in their country will not be required to receive the vaccine.
